So, what is ALGO and how did it begin?  ALGO is otherwise know as Almost Gourmet Food Service — a home-based food delivery service.  Our products include the following: ALGO SOLO Meal Packs, ALGO SALO Party Trays, ALGO COMBO Pasta + Pica, ALGO SEXY BLENDS Dips & Dressings and ALGO FROST BITES Cook - It - Yourself.

Our flagship product, ALGO SOLO, began in August 2008 when I was still working in goFLUENT, a BPO company in Eastwood.  During this time, my family (dad, step-mom and half siblings) had migrated to Canada, leaving me in Manila with our house cook.  Thinking of ways to ‘make ends meet’, I decided to sell meal packs to my officemates.  And they loved it! What made it more special is that our menu was ever-changing, never nakakasawa.

Next came ALGO SALO.  Basically, what I did was I chose our bestsellers from ALGO SOLO and made a party trays menu based on them.  This was early in 2009.

By late 2009, I realized the potential of ALGO and had the urge to serve other companies as well. Taking a leap of faith, I decided to leave the corporate world in December of 2009 to focus on my small but promising business.  Since then, ALGO has served more than 100 offices and residents in Metro Manila.  Also, we now have three new products, namely, ALGO COMBO, ALGO SEXY BLENDS and ALGO FROST BITES.  More on our products on the posts to come…

So, that’s that. Oh and the real reason why I named the business ‘Almost Gourmet’ was first and foremost because of the movie ‘Almost Famous’.  The other reasons are just plain coincidence.

These past couple of weeks have been a technological headache for me.  I’ve been a member of Facebook for quite a while already but the changes and additional features are driving me crazy!  Not that I’m complaining though.  I’m loving some new features such as being able to use FB as your page profile.

Twitter, on the other hand, is quite a puzzle to me.  All those ‘”’, ‘#’ and ‘@’ are alien to me — well maybe not ‘@’.  Mind you, I am quite a tech-savvy person.  I guess it just needs a little bit of getting used to… plus an hour, or two, or three of tutorials.  So far, Almost Gourmet has 23 followers! Haha!

So today, I have no idea why I just signed up for Tumblr.  Bored?  Maybe. I’m thinking more of ‘challenged’ though.  I want to be an expert at this.  Now, how do I change my background photo…

Oh, this was me more than a year ago when I had a corporate job.  Nothing much has changed today, now that I’m a full-time, work from home food business owner and future mommy.
